"I'm on a rollar coaster that only goes up, my friend."

This week has been absolutely amazing and it was composed of the simplest of things that made it great. There were some minor bumps and setbacks, but if you look at the overall majority, it was pretty awesome.

First up is art. Two of my pieces are being entered into an art show and I couldn't be more pleased. The first one is this tempera painting I did towards the end of December of rail road tracks.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out because, fun fact, I'm not a painter. I prefer a simple paper and pencil but it turns out I'm not terrible with a brush.

This next piece that was entered is a tryptic which is a three panel painting that is usually used to convey a message, or, it was used to be used as a traveling story board so people over in countries such as Israel could travel around and tell the stories that are in the Bible while providing a bit of visual aid. Now as you know, I was greatly impacted by John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, so of course I based the tryptic off of it. The left panel belongs to Hazel Grace which shows half of her face rather than her profile to show her cannula better. There are quotes in the background that I accomplished by doing an image transfer and the quotes come straight from the book. The right panel belongs to Augustus Waters and shows his profile while he portrays his ever classic metaphor: "You put the killing thing between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do its killing." He also has 'Augustus related' quotes in the background. I'm happy with the way this one turned out as well. Not exactly what I had in mind, but not too many changes had to be made to the original sketch so YEAY BELLE.

This week also brought a couple new future opportunities to the table that I'm super excited about, but those will have to be explained some other times... =)

On a travel note though, more details to an upcoming New York trip have been presented recently and I'm getting super stoked for that, more details to come as well.

I hope you all had as lovely of week as I did and I promise to write more into those briefly mentioned things soon.

Signatures, Stars, and Death by Cake

Hello my lovelies. Here I am once more to spill out thoughts from my brain onto this little blog of mine for anyone who bothers to read them. Or, just for myself which is fine as well.

So I have very exciting news! What is that, you may ask? Well, I didn't purchase Canada, I haven't met the love of my life, and Augustus Waters doesn't exist. But that brings me to the EXCITING NEWS!
Okay, so this week in the Target ad, it contained the advertisement that took my night from average to extraordinary. It said that on that Tuesday, Target was releasing an exclusive SIGNED The Fault in Our Stars book by thee John Green that included a bonus DVD that contained exclusive movie content for the film that comes out on June 6th. And get this, it was only $14 which is cheeper than I bought the original hard cover book for. So here I am at nine o'clock at night driving to my local Target store in sweats to obtain a signed copy of the book of the decade, well, one of my absolute favorite books, that is. I sprinted to the back of the store and chose the most perfect one I could find and excitedly told the cashier the news of my findings which she, for some unknown reason, didn't find nearly as thrilling as I did.
Here is THEE JOHN GREEN'S signature that is now in my possession:

"...and I couldn't be more thankful."

And I just wanted to quickly share this as well. I saw this photograph and instantly fell in love. There's really no relevance to my week or day, but it was just amazing.

And last, but most certainly not least, I ate at this lovely restaurant called Patrick's this week. It's a French restaurant and it was TO DIE FOR. If not the food, the pastries. But both the meal and dessert were delicious and I would highly recommend it if there's one close to you. I had shrimp that was followed by a fancy name, and although I am a 5 star person when it comes to travel and hotels, I'm not as experienced with the fine delicacies of the food world and for that reason I cannot tell you the exact fancy French names. My deepest apologies. But, not to worry, I had a delicious four layer cake that made up for the fact that I couldn't pronounce the menu items, and this is what it looked like just in digital form:

So that pretty much concludes this blog post. That was maybe too much info to take on at one time. I apologize for that is well, but hey, when your last couple of days weren't over the top exciting, you have to make up for those with the little victories of life. Have a lovely rest of your day/week/month/year, whenever you choose to come back here.

This begins the first new adventure of many in 2014

Hello lovely people of the Internet that are taking precious time out of their day to bother to read this.

I'm Belle, it's a pleasure meet/write you. This is actually a lot harder then I intentionally thought it would be. I thought that words would just flow out of me in coherent sentences that I don't mind others reading, but I guess that's what I'm doing at the moment.

Well, there probably should be a reason as to why I decided to start this blog. That reason is I had been wanting to start up a blog for a while, just didn't really know what website to go to. My friend started up her own blog sometime in the past few days and I figured that this site would be as good as any. It's a nice place to share thoughts and exciting adventures that I will be embarking on this year. So, you could call this a travel blog in sense (hence the name Belle was here) but it won't be completely dedicated to that. Because as much as I'd like traveling around the world to be a full-time job, it's just not something that happens.

Maybe some basic facts about myself, if you're curious? I live in the United States of America. It's a pretty happening place, if you've never been. And I promise, we're not all idiots. Just the majority of us are ;) I kid, I kid. That's another lovely fact about me is sarcasm basically runs through my veins.
I've always wanted to travel across Europe, which (spoiler alert) is one of the amazing things that's going to occur this year. I love art and I've been told I'm not too terrible at it. I would love to be able to major in something along the fine arts line and would adore a career in the art field. Music is also a major part of my life, but let's not go into detail on that. I could go on for hours.

I'm sure you'll get to know more fun facts about me as time goes on, but for now I will leave you with this much. Have a lovely day, and I'll talk to you soon.
